We Give Back
The Bookstore is an active member of the Glen Ellyn community, and we strive to support local causes and charities, particularly those that promote literacy, tutoring and reading. The Bookstore is proud to be a part of many charitable giving programs in the area. For local fundraisers, please consider our Breakfast at The Bookstore Program, which has been used quite successfully at many area silent auctions.
We also offer the following giving programs:
Bridge Communities Holiday Book Drive
The Bookstore is proud to be a part of Bridge Communities Annual Holiday Book Drive for children.
Every year, Bridge Communities hosts a holiday party in early December for the children it serves, and each child receives a new, wrapped book as a gift. We invite our customers to select and purchase a book for one or more of the children in the program. We are so proud of our customers who make sure this is a sold-out program every single year. More information will be available in November.

Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center
In honor of The Bookstore's 50th Anniversary in 2010, we sponsored of a 50-Hour Team Readathon to benefit the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center. Teams of Glen Ellyn readers joined together to raise $3,505.50 for the GECRC.
The winner of the "Most Voracious Reader" prize for The Bookstore's 50th Anniversary Readathon was a Glen Ellyn third grader who not only read 26 hours on her own, but also led her Readathon Team to a total of 364.5 hours in just one weekend.

Breakfast at The Bookstore
The Bookstore is proud to offer a unique fundraising opportunity called Breakfast at the Bookstore. Many local fundraisers have used this program in their silent auctions, receiving successful bids for their charitable causes. The Bookstore provides an hour-long private book talk, along with treats and coffee or OJ for a small group of friends at 9:00am on a mutually agreed upon date. Book talks may be customized for children or adults, fiction or nonfiction, book clubs, award-winners, or anything you'd like to concentrate on! Private shopping is included at a 10% discount.
Some groups have customized our Breakfast at the Bookstore program for an evening event. Please call or stop in The Bookstore to inquire.
